Colts Face Falcons in German Capital – Week 10 NFL Action

Hello, football fans. How are you? Everything good I trust on this fine morning kickoff to week 10 coming straight outta Germany. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the powerful Indianapolis Colts (seven wins and two losses) face off against the Atlanta Falcons (three wins and five losses). The fifth game played on soil in Germany and the initial in the capital city.

Pregame Highlights

When it comes to glittering attire that is an real standout from the Olympic figure skater on the coin toss. A slight fluff from Sky Sports there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the presenter with an unfortunately hot mic.

Well, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have chosen to get the ball first. Daniel Jones and company will be taking the field soon. Can the quarterback recover after a rough one in their last game?

In a similar vein the singer belting out the Star Spangled Banner has some of the largest shoulder pads you are ever likely to see. The fashion picks are impressive today. We are almost underway after a choral number for the national anthem of Germany. Classy.

Opening Period Action

Scoreless at 13:30 in the first

And we're off! And we have an exciting start after the Colts running back receives a short throw, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right side then loses the ball … only for his offensive lineman to recover the fumble with the ball retrieval. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter

And the excitement continues as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The gamble fails to pay off as the wide receiver fails to catch a fastball from Jones. Prior to the failed attempt Jessie Bates put a massive tackle on the Colts' tight end. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they try and snap their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Score Updates

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter

Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was very open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That play rather sums up the high draft pick's professional journey to date.

So far, so disappointing but it only gets worse for the Falcons as they turn over possession to the Colts on the 23-yard line. Michael Penix Jr is hunted down and can’t keep hold of the ball.

An agile 22-yard rush from the Colts receiver sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the next snap. The placekicker misses the point after attempt. Mistake.

Falcons respond: 6-7 at 6:07

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. Drake London makes some substantial catches to put them in the red zone then the defense opens up for the running back to saunter on to the goal line through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a short scoring run of his own. The Falcons take the lead.

Other Tenth Week Games

Additionally, the jumbo package starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (home teams listed first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Carolina Panthers v Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Chicago Bears v New York Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Dolphins v Buffalo Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Minnesota Vikings v Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) New York Jets v Cleveland Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Buccaneers v Patriots (7-2)

What a feast. My pick for the best game is the Vikings and Ravens playing out the game of the day.
