The Opening Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Remains Committed.
Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content about PlayStation unprecedentedly. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it is apparent that Xbox still intends to attract subscribers with quality releases on its premier subscription.
The Available Now Titles
The duo of games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, previously described as "a superb mixture of frights and fights."
Intriguing Niche Additions
However, the more modest titles arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
Ultimately, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they are also not massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and fairly new titles that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around — rendering them perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.
Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
